Things to do Outside of San Francisco
May 25, 2018Looking to escape the city for a day or two? There are obvious choices like a day trip to Napa or Lake Tahoe but there are also other amazing places to check out…
San Jose Earthquakes Soccer Game
Professional futbol anyone? The San Jose Earthquakes are the Bay Area’s professional soccer team and play in a brand new state-of-the-art stadium that seats over 17,000 fans. It is also home to the largest outdoor bar in the western hemisphere! Be sure to catch a game this season and enjoy the view of planes landing at neighboring San Jose Airport, all from your seat.
Tip: don’t drive! Hop on Caltrain by AT&T Park, it leaves you just a few feet from Avaya stadium.
Explore Healdsburg
If you’re looking to sip some wine outside of Napa, head north to Healdsburg. The town of Healdsburg has a unique charm to it and is less “touristy” than Napa proper. You’ll find a handful of wineries to choose from but we recommend starting with MacRostie, they have a very Instagrammable patio with breathtaking views of their vineyard.
Note: Not a wine enthusiast? Bear Republic Brewing has a taproom in Healdsburg.
Monterey Bay-Carmel By The Sea
You might’ve heard of the massive Monterey Bay Aquarium which is home to over 35,000 sea animals but there is more to the Monterey Peninsula than just the aquarium. Make it a point to explore Carmel-by-the-Sea, a small beach city with cute cottage-style stores at their downtown. Make a dinner reservation at the cottage turned restaurant Casanova and take a drive down the gorgeous 17 mile drive at Pebble Beach.
Tip: Make sure your phone is charged, you’ll want to take some photos.
Our apartments in San Francisco are just 2 hours or less from these amazing places, which will you visit next?
